Early Life

Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in Kolkata. Because he belonged to Kush, a village in the Burdwan district of West Bengal, his family members were called Kushari who were Brahmins. In 1878, Rabindranath went to London to study where he started studying law from University College London but left it midway. He read English Literature. Studied English, Irish, and Scottish music.
